"The development of the child during the first three years after birth is unequaled in intensity and importance by any period that precedes or follows in the whole life of the child."
We offer a variety of programs to prepare your child for school; assist and compliment their educational needs; enrich their learning experience; expose them to the arts, music, theatre & dance; and generally provide a myriad of exciting educational encounters so that "school" is fun and joyous. It is our belief that the development of the body is as important as the development of the mind. In order to build an efficient, well-functioning body/mind, great emphasis is put on participation in structured and creative activities. The curriculum is a comprehensive program of movement and physical education, which focuses on enhancing gross motor coordination, eye-hand coordination, flexibility and agility.
Your child can have fun while developing the mind and body benefits of Yoga. This children’s movement–based experience focuses on channeling his/her high energy into a positive, focused direction through postures, sounds, visualization, and breathing techniques. Yoga helps children build concentration skills, cultivate inner strength, raise self-esteem, develop self-regulation and foster poise and strength.
This program teaches basic art principles, appropriate age/stage instruction and utilizes multimedia materials to foster creativity while exposing children to Art Masters such as Van Gogh, Matisse and Picasso.
Our Montessori music program encourages all our students to dance and sing, promoting rhythm, pitch and language development. Playing percussion instruments develops fine motor skills as well as a sense of rhythm and playing together within a group. Many styles of music are experienced and explored as the children learn the relationship of music and story. Performances throughout the school year add to the performing arts experience.
This program is a conversational introduction to the Spanish language and culture. Through music, dance and hands-on activities, students begin to apply the Spanish language to their every day life. Lessons include numbers, letters, greetings, family traditions and much more. We will also incorporate the language and cultural traditions of other children in the program, encouraging the children and their families to share their experiences. Sign Language is also used to encourage the least verbal children to participate; and they all have fun doing it at the same time.
Little Chefs will get a chance to have some fun in this hands-on "non-cooking" cooking program.
